A Perfect 7-Day BVI Yacht Charter Itinerary

If you’re wondering what a week aboard a crewed yacht in the British Virgin Islands feels like, picture this: turquoise waters, gentle breezes, world-class snorkeling, and a new island view each morning, without ever unpacking your bag twice.

At Sail Play Dine, every itinerary is customized around our client’s preferences. Whether you love relaxing beaches, adventurous exploring, or local dining gems, the BVI deliver it all. Here’s a sample 7-day route to inspire your next charter, a mix of adventure, indulgence, and total tranquility.

Day 1 — Welcome to Tortola & Sail to Norman Island

Your crew welcomes you aboard at Tortola, and after a quick orientation, you’ll set sail toward Norman Island, known for its calm bays and clear water.
Spend your first afternoon snorkeling the Caves, the inspiration for Treasure Island, and finish the day with sunset cocktails at Pirate’s Bight or The Willy T, the legendary floating bar.

Day 2 — Cooper Island: Slow Mornings & Sunset Rum

After breakfast on deck, enjoy an easy sail to Cooper Island, where calm turquoise waters invite you for a swim or paddleboard session.
Lunch on board, then head ashore to Cooper Island Beach Club, home to a boutique, café, and one of the Caribbean’s best rum bars, with over 300 selections. Dinner back on board rounds out a perfectly balanced day.

Day 3 — Virgin Gorda: The Baths & Saba Rock

Sail north to Virgin Gorda, a highlight of any BVI itinerary. Explore The Baths, where giant granite boulders create hidden pools and grottoes, a natural playground.
Later, head to North Sound, one of the most scenic anchorages in the Caribbean. Enjoy sunset drinks at Saba Rock or Bitter End Yacht Club, both recently rebuilt and buzzing with energy.

Day 4 — Anegada: Island of Lobsters & Endless Beaches

Set course for Anegada, the BVI’s only coral island. Its flat landscape, pink-sand beaches, and flamingo-filled salt ponds make it feel like another world.
Rent scooters or a jeep to explore, then enjoy a beachside lobster dinner at Tipsy by Anne or Wonky Dog. It’s the kind of evening that defines the island’s magic.

Day 5 — Guana Island or Cane Garden Bay

After breakfast, sail south toward Guana Island, known for its pristine snorkeling at Monkey Point, or anchor at Cane Garden Bay, where you’ll find lively beach bars and live music.
Spend the afternoon swimming, kayaking or paddleboarding, and enjoy a relaxed dinner on board beneath a starlit sky.

Day 6 — Jost Van Dyke: Beach Bars & Barefoot Fun

Cruise west to Jost Van Dyke, home to some of the Caribbean’s most iconic beach bars.
Drop anchor in White Bay, swim ashore to Soggy Dollar Bar for their famous Painkiller cocktail, and enjoy a laid-back lunch at Hendo’s Hideout.
End the day anchored in Great Harbour with sunset drinks at Foxy’s, where live music and island charm flow late into the night.

Day 7 — Return to Tortola

Savor your final breakfast on board as you sail back to Tortola. Take one last swim or snorkel before docking- relaxed, sun-kissed, and already dreaming of your next charter.
